Deleting Departments

Overview

You may want to get rid of some outdated or not-needed departments you have created in Kayako Classic. If you want to delete them, this can be done from the admin control panel.

Solution

Deleting departments have associated effects on tickets and chats. So before deleting a department, please take a moment to read the Effects of Deleting a Department on the Tickets and Chats article.

NOTE: 

• You need admin access with "delete departments" permission to perform the following steps.

To delete departments:

1. Log in to the admin control panel.
2. Click Departments from the top navigation bar.
3. Click Manage Departments.
   
4. Select the department you want to delete.
5. Click the Delete button, then click Ok to confirm.
