Overview
After upgrading your Kayako Classic installation, you may encounter the error:
"Invalid key.php (3). Please try uploading your key file in Binary mode or contact the Kayako Support at https://support.kayako.com for further assistance.”
This article provides information on how to solve this problem.
Prerequisite
- Admin access to the server
Solution
If this problem keeps happening despite downloading the updated key.php file and adding it to the root folder (replacing the old file) in which the rest of the helpdesk files have been uploaded, then the problem could be due to the file permission.
Kayako Classic needs write permissions, recursively, for the following directories:
__swift/files
__swift/cache
__swift/geoip
__swift/logs
__swift/library
__apps
To ensure all required Kayako directories have sufficient permissions, refer to the 'Setting folder permissions' section in the article Installing Kayako Classic Download.
